Christmas: Cleric Tasks Christians on Love, Humility

A cleric, Rev. Fr. Gabriel Nwachukwu, on Wednesday admonished Nigerians to show more love to one another in line with the  teachings of  Jesus Christ.

Nwachukwu preached a sermon during a church service to celebrate Christmas at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tedi, Ojo,  Lagos State.

He described the birth of Jesus Christ as a demonstration of God’s love for humanity, urging Nigerians to  love one another.

He also urged Christian to be humble.

“Christ’s birth in a manger, a place unfit for his status, shows humility,” he said.

The cleric said that Jesus was humble  until death to reconcile man with God.

“This was unconditional love exhibited by God the Father, who gave man His only Son, to suffer for man to live.

“We should be at peace with one another and assist the vulnerable around us to make a harmonious society.

“We came from dust and shall return to it; immodest living and  wickedness are at variance with the significance of Christmas,” he said.
