It was Pomp ançd Ceremony as the 2022 NBA Benin Branch Law Week opened in an atmosphere of glitz and glamour at the Prestigious Sir Victor Uwaifo Hall, on Airport Road, Benin City.
It was a bee hive of Intellectual activities as Dignitaries from the Legal Profession, from all across the Country attended the event.Among those present were Chief Judge of Edo State -Justice J.I. Acha FICMC, Justice D I. Okungbowa and other Judges of the Edo State Judiciary, Chief J.K Gadzama SAN, MFR, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, OFR, Ken E. Mozia SAN, Chairman of the Midwest Bar Forum and former Secretary of the Branch -G.C. Igbokwe SAN , Oluwole Osaze Uzzi, former INEC National Director, Prince Collins Ogiegbaen , AICMC , A Adegbite , former Chairmen of the NBA -Prince P I. Iyomon and Ede Asenoguan, Nosa Edo-Osagie , former Secretaries of the Branch , O. Edeki and David Maduku, and the chairman of the Law Week Planning Committee -Dayo Aimuefumeh Esq.
The Ceremony was chaired by the Chief Judge of Edo State -Hon Justice J.I. Acha ,FICMC.Chief Mike Ozekhomen SAN, OFR, KSM , gave a brilliant account of himself in the keynote address on the topic “Security :A Panacea to National Growth”.
The Learned Silk deprecated the dire Security Situation in Nigeria and called on the Government at all levels to live up to their responsibilities. This topic was discussed by Kingsley Odabi Esq , Edo State Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and others .On this topic Chief J.K. Gadzama SAN, Nosa Edo-Osagie Esq., O. Edeki Esq. and Martins Omo-Ihekpe proffered some solutions to the intractable Security Conundrum in Nigeria.
The second session on Professional Ethics was chaired by Justice D.I. Okungbowa and the Lead Speaker was former Chairman of the Branch -Solomon Odiase Esq. The topic wss discussed by Chief J..K. Gadzama SAN ,Professor Job Odion and others .
The Sessions were intellectually simulating , opening new vistas needed in excellence in the Legal Profession.The ceremony continues today at the same venue .
